Your Guide to Invisalign Braces

Do you worry about how your teeth look? Do you feel you would be more confident if you had a better smile?

If so, Invisalign braces are the perfect solution to gently correct teeth misalignment comfortably and effectively to give you a smile you dream of. There’s no uncomfortable or noticeable metal braces, just a simple, gentle invisible, removable liner.

Invisalign Braces are a discreet predictable way to move your teeth gently.

What are Invisalign braces?

Invisalign brace treatment will see you wear a series of almost invisible clear removable liners. They are changed periodically during the treatment process and gradually move your teeth into line to create your very best smile.

Who are they suitable for?

Anyone with healthy teeth, most of which are their own, is a candidate for Invisalign braces.  Age isn’t a barrier. From teenagers to elders, there is no upper age limit. Specially designed teen Invisalign braces feature functional wear indicators to ensure that they are worn long enough each day. Teens also have a special design to allow molar eruption, so there is no need to wait until you are older to correct your smile.  Once adult teeth are in place and as long as most of your teeth are your own, the Invisalign correction is available. We can’t move dental implants, but we can still move teeth around them. Invisalign braces are also effective for crowns and veneers.

How do they work?

Invisalign tooth correction is an excellent alternative to traditional braces. They’re cleaner as they can be removed for brushing, flossing, and eating. Treatment involves wearing a transparent aligner for around 20-22 hours per day. The aligner gently moves your teeth into the correct position, gradually, you will change aligners every week or two to ensure that movement continues throughout your treatment cycle. Treatment length depends on the amount of movement required but can be from a few weeks to around six months.

The most common orthodontic problems Invisalign braces can help with

Most common malocclusions (bad bite), such as crowded or crooked teeth, inconsistent spacing, overlap, alignment or bite inconsistencies, can be corrected for most patients through gentle Invisalign treatment.

What can you expect?

You will have an assessment of your smile by a 3D digital scan, photos and x-rays and be able to see a smile simulation of how your straightened smile will look. You will then need to wear your braces for around 20-22 hours a day and change aligners every 1-2 weeks as advised until your teeth are in their final position. Once treatment is completed, we fit retainers to keep your new smile happily in place.
